Find the median width measurement (not the largest or the smallest but the one in the middle). And measure the depth of the river 9 times along that line. Try to evenly space out your measurements by dividing the width by 9 to find your spacing between measurements.
Next calculate the average depth, just like with the width except now you are adding up 9 values, so divide by 9. And record your value.
